Winning 27-25 : Browns Able To Keep Jaguars Down

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP / WJW) – the Cleveland Browns continued their winning streak today by beating the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Safety Ronnie Harrison was suspended after a shoulder injury. The Browns announced on Twitter that he would not return to the game.

The Jaguars again scored a field goal and a touchdown in the second quarter, but the Browns quickly increased their lead. Baker Mayfield threw a 9-yard pass to Austin Hooper for another TD.

The Jaguars scored again in the third quarter after Mike Glennon threw a 2-yard pass to Tyler Eifert. The momentum was stopped when Cody Parkey scored a 45-yard field goal.

Nick Chubb increased the Browns ‘ lead in the fourth quarter with a yard rush for a TD.

The score remained at 27-25, with the Browns able to get another W.

The Browns (8-3) were stripped of five players due to COVID-19 testing and contact tracking, including excellent defenseman Myles Garrett. Defensive ends Joe Jackson and Porter Gustin, linebacker Sione Takitaki and fullback Andy Janovich also did not play due to the coronavirus.

In addition to the team’s suffering, cornerback Denzel Ward did not make the trip due to a calf injury.

COVID’s protocols forced the Browns to close their facility for three days in a row to track contacts, and coach Kevin Stefanski couldn’t put his offense and defense on the field at the same time.

“Whether it’S COVID things or injuries, you never want to have it, but you have to deal with it, especially this year,” quarterback Baker Mayfield said.
