Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane has contacted Cristiano Ronaldo in a bid to convince him to remain in Spain this summer amid reports that he has made a decision to leave the country.

Former Real Madrid president Ramon Calderon believes that Cristiano Ronaldo would be willing to join Manchester United this summer if he were to leave the La Liga giants.

It is in Real Madrid, in particular, where Ronaldo's true potential has been unleashed as he has been one of the most prolific players in the world over the last eight seasons.

The highest-paid player in world football is being linked to a return to Manchester United, a move to Paris Saint-Germain, or the Chinese Super League.

Ronaldo, on Confederations Cup duty in Russian Federation with Portugal, is reportedly furious over a tax probe into the offshore accounts dealing with his image rights, and has reportedly vowed to leave Spain.

Doubts over Ronaldo's future emerged earlier in the week following accusations that the Madrid forward had concealed earnings and defrauded the Spanish tax authorities out of €14.7 million.

But Ronaldo has also publicly expressed his discontentment about being jeered at times by some Madrid fans at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium, saying that it's unfair considering all that he has done for the club since arriving in 2009.

With Ronaldo's future at the club uncertain, Real Madrid are now rethinking their decision on Morata and according to AS, they are considering putting negotiations with Manchester United on hold. "I had the same situation with Manchester United when he wanted to leave and I signed him".

Real Madrid were rocked by widespread claims in the media on Friday that Ronaldo wants to leave the Spanish capital in the summer.

Many people, though, have reported that Ronaldo doesn't have the best relationship with Mourinho. He's very sad and really upset.

The EURO 2016 victor has helped Real secure the Champions League three times, scoring twice in last month's final as they became the first club to retain the title, and he became only the second player to score in three finals.
