Cavaliers stun Warriors to win Game 4

Before the historic Cleveland Cavaliers shooting performance, there was a feeling the Golden State Warriors would cap off the revenge tour by annihilating their rival in a ideal postseason.

Cavaliers fans were chanting, "Cavs in seven" in the final minutes. Cleveland scored 49 in the first quarter and 86 during a dizzying opening 24 minutes that left players and fans gasping for air. They are probably going to do better than they did a year ago. They must correct the mistakes that led to a batch of those triples or risk this series getting far more risky for a second straight year.

Now, back in Cleveland, LeBron took a 20-win franchise (that he originally abandoned) and turned them into the dominant force in the Eastern Conference. Two weeks later, Durant signed a maximum contract that put him in a Golden State uniform for at least one season, with several more seasons likely to come. So it's been going back and forth all season, and now we're in the Finals and everything is just pinpointed.

NOTES: LeBron James said his mother, Gloria, did not want him to return to Cleveland and play for the Cavaliers in 2014, according to

"We've got to be way better", Durant said.

Four-time scoring champ Kevin Durant at this time past year was a member of the Oklahoma City Thunder.

The NBA Finals was the most-watched telecast across all of television for the 59th consecutive time.

Questions about whether Love is the best option for the team over a more versatile two-way wing will persist, especially since the Cavaliers are still enormously unlikely to win the series. LeBron, meanwhile, had 31 points, 11 assists, 10 rebounds, maintaining the triple-double average he already had in the series.

The Mercury News' Tim Kawakami called it an imperfect game for everybody involved, except for the Cavs: "The Warriors played terribly at the start, they gathered themselves to make it competitive into the third quarter, and then that third quarter was some of the oddest stuff in recent playoff history". But listen, at the end of the day we just got some resilient guys.

Instead, we were treated to a shooting display for the ages.

"We were in attack mode", James said. The series goes back to Oakland for Game 5 on Monday, June 12, 9 p.m. ET on ABC. Kevin Love didn't make any NBA Finals history, unfortunately, unless he's the first Banana Republic model to win a finals game. Golden State will be at full strength this time, and while the Warriors have finally lost a game, they haven't lost any confidence.

"And getting swept is something that you never want to have happen". Auburn had a really good run a year ago until the very - until their quarterback got hurt.

"It's part of the game, I understand that", he added. I don't get involved in that man. In the fourth quarter, he was 1-for-6 without an assist and made a horrendous behind-the-back pass that went out of bounds.

The Cavaliers shot 24-of-45 from 3-point range, setting a record for Finals hoops from beyond the arc and finishing one shy of matching the league's all-time record. Love has an uneasy geographic role on the Cavs, as LeBron occupies his favorite spot at the top of the key and Tristan Thompson is the only player deputized to bang down low. "It's whatever you need to get yourself ready to play".

The Warriors will do so healthier than they were at any time last June, Andre Iguodala and Curry were playing hurt.

An engaged, productive Thompson would go a long way toward potentially making this a real series again, given that the Cavs won last year's title by harassing the Warriors with their physical play.

The Cavaliers and Warriors agree on one thing.

James shrugged off unbeaten runs and celebration talk and just kept his mind on the moment. A chance for a championship remains in their grasp. Forget about that undefeated talk.
