King James or Air Jordan?

The Cavs beat the Boston Celtics 135-102 in game five of the Eastern Conference finals today, LeBron James with another pristine performance that helped him pass Michael Jordan as the NBA's all-time leading playoff scorer. In so doing, James increased his career postseason scoring total to 5,995 points, eclipsing Jordan's record tally of 5,987 points.

James spoke Thursday during the morning shootaround before the Cavaliers played the Boston Celtics in Game 5 of the Eastern Conference finals.

The Cavs will now most likely face the Steph Curry led Golden State Warriors in the National Basketball Association finals in a rematch of last year's rematch in what was one of the all-time classic finals series. It felt like we grew as the year went on. I started to focus myself on other players and other people around my neighborhood.

Then, after spending much of his free time flying cross-country to be with his family, Thomas had a tooth knocked out in Game 1 of the conference semifinals against Washington. The Cavs set an National Basketball Association record by winning their 13th consecutive series closeout opportunity. The Giants won the Series 5-3 in the final best-of-nine matchup as a banged-up Ruth got just one plate appearance during the final three games, all won by the Giants.

"At this point, he's not able to coach", Myers said. "You let a team like that grab momentum you nearly knew a shot like that was going in".

In overtime in Game 7, Red Wings forward Tony Leswick got credit for the series-clinching goal when his innocent looking shot from the point was deflected by Harvey past Gerry McNeil for a 2-1 win 4:29 into OT.

"The special ones figure it out, and I'm just eternally grateful to have a guy like that as well as K-Love, Tristan, J.R., all my teammates, but when you look at how this team is run and who are the driving forces behind it, it has to be myself and Bron", Irving said.

James has played 212 career playoff games - and is now in the NBA Finals for a seventh straight time.

The Cavaliers are 7-0-1 ATS in their last 8 road games, 20-8 ATS in their last 28 games playing on 3 or more days rest and 8-2-1 ATS in their last 11 games overall. They've just been more consistent and they added Kevin freakin' Durant.

Avery Bradley led Boston with 23 points. The Cleveland Cavaliers managed to secure its third win in the series 112-99 and now the Celtics are facing a crucial elimination for the second time this Eastern Conference Finals series.

Although James needed more games than Jordan to overtake him on the postseason scoring list, he still did it at a younger age. He showed a lot during the playoffs, but, in the end, the Celtics didn't have enough to keep pace with Cleveland's torrid offense. Less than three seasons ago, they traded point guard Rajon Rondo, the last remaining starter from the 2008 championship team, to the Dallas Mavericks.
