No, not entirely. The Cavaliers ran the score up in Game 5 and then gently put Toronto to sleep at the ACC in Game 6.
The obvious next man, if Lowry can't go, is Cory Joseph, who just happens to be one of the few Raptors that came out of Cleveland with a little confidence. Cleveland outscored Toronto by 51 points from distance through the first two games. LeBron James was not the same guy that owned the court in Cleveland through those first two games, but he didn't need to be.
The Cleveland Cavaliers took care of business north of the border with a 115-94 win over the Toronto Raptors in Game 3. If there's any hope for the Toronto, however, it's that team were in the same position in last season's playoffs before securing two wins in Toronto to equalize the series.
"I don't think the officials saw that part of it", Casey said of Thompson's shove.
"We knew we were coming to a hostile environment, we knew they were going to give us everything they had, no matter who was in the lineup", James said. "Right now they are doing what they want to do to our defence and that is unacceptable and we can do better". Despite going 0-9 from three in the first half, the Raptors played very well in the second quarter and capitalized on the Cavs' inactivity to take the lead at halftime, 52-49. Valanciunas had is way inside early on, making nine of his first ten shots on his way to 19 first half points. However, late in the third quarter, Kyle Korver hit back-to-back late three's to give the Cavs a 79-77 lead after three periods.
"He and DeMar (DeRozan) are both our hubs, they're the key to our team, and I've said it a lot, the way they go is the way we go", Casey said.
Cleveland Cavaliers forward LeBron James (23) reacts in the fourth quarter against the Indiana Pacers in game one of the first round of the 2017 NBA Playoffs at Quicken Loans Arena. He also went 13-for-13 on free throws.
"Our three-point shooters have to take them and make them", Casey said before the game.
Through eight playoff games, Lowry is averaging 15.8 points, 3.1 rebounds and 5.9 assists.
The Raptors went ice cold in the fourth, and Delon Wright's basket less than a minute into the quarter was Toronto's only field goal for a terrible six-minute stretch.
Irving scored 16 points and Kyle Korver had 14 for the Cavaliers, who have posted three straight double-digit wins over Toronto. They shot 2-of-18 overall to the Cavs' 13-of-23 (a 33-point disparity). Instead, DeRozan had 36 points through three quarters, and the Cavs were ahead by two going to the fourth. Kevin Love had a game-high 13 rebounds. The fans were all decked in white shirts printed with red maple leafs and they booed LeBron James each time he touched the ball. Cleveland's defense has been good enough through the first two games, though the team is scoring at such a rate that getting stops hasn't been a major concern. Kyle Lowry didn't practise due to his sprained left ankle, and is questionable for Game 3.
"They are the defending champs and that is what they are looking like", Lowry said.
Lowry suffered the injury when he collided with teammate Norman Powell in Game 2 of the Raptors' NBA Eastern Conference semifinal against the Cavs.
"Sunday's game is about pride", Casey said.
